Pipe sealants
542 for fine hydraulic and pneumatic threads. 577 for coarser metal pipe threads. 567 for higher temperature. 55 cord is commonly listed for potable-water metal threads. None of these is a universal PTFE-tape replacement on plastics.
Retaining compounds
638 / 86-86 for high-strength slip fits and worn housings. 641 when the bearing must come out again on overhaul.
Instant adhesives
401 / 495 for general close-fitting parts. 406 for many plastics and rubbers. 454 gel for vertical, porous, or gappy surfaces.
